J. Albert Mastro
J. Albert Mastro, a veteran of WW II, is a graduate of Drew University and Rutgers Law School. He also attended the Graduate School of New York University and New School for Social Research, New York for additional graduate work in government and international relations. During his career Mr. Mastro served as Municipal Court Judge for the Borough of Bernardsville, Township of Bernards, and Township of Passaic; represented the Borough of Bernardsville and Township of Warren as Municipal Attorney; was Prosecutor for the Borough of Bernardsville and Township of Warren; served as Planning Board Attorney for Tewksbury Township and Borough of Far Hills; and Attorney for Warren Township Sewerage Authority.
Among his publications, Mr. Mastro co-edited with Julius Mastro Governing New Jersey Municipalities, published by Rutgers (1979), revised 1982. He authored various articles on local government appearing in New Jersey Municipalities published by the New Jersey State League of Municipalities, including “Mount Laurel II and Municipal Home Rule.” His article “Warren Township, New Jersey Overcomes Challenge to Quarry Regulations” appeared in Municipal Attorney published by National Institute of Municipal law Officers, February, 1978.
Mr. Mastro served as First Vice President of the Institute of Municipal Attorneys from 1975 to 1977 and President from 1978 to 1981.
