Ronald P. Mondello
Ron Mondello has been practicing law since 1992. His experience includes: municipal law and municipal land use law representing municipalities, planning boards, and boards of adjustment. Areas include COAH substantive certification, defending municipalities against - Mt. Laurel "Builder's Remedy" lawsuits, appeals before the construction board of appeals, tax appeals, complaints in lieu of prerogative writ actions, Worker’s Compensation actions, Title 59 and §1983 actions, OPRA litigation, prosecuting construction code violations and fire code violations and conducting municipal investigations. Mr. Mondello has been the Fair Lawn Borough Attorney since 2011, Bergenfield Zoning Board Attorney since 1998, Bergenfield Planning Board Attorney since 2001 and Wanaque Zoning Board Attorney since 2009. He has served as Special Legal Counsel to New Milford, Washington Township and Saddle Brook. Mr. Mondello represented the residents of Fair Lawn as the Public Advocate before the Zoning Board. He previously served as conflicts Board Attorney for the Paramus Board of Adjustment and the Boonton Planning Board. Mr. Mondello interned for the United States Attorney, Marguerite T. Simon, J.S.C. and the Passaic County Prosecutor. Mr. Mondello was an adjunct professor at Bergen and Passaic Community Colleges and continues to present seminars to the Passaic and Bergen County Bar Associations and Garden State CLE. He received his law degree from Loyola University and an MBA in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Public positions included Kinnelon Council President, Fair Lawn Councilman, Kinnelon Board of Adjustment Member, Chairman of the Fair Lawn Board of Adjustment, Fair Lawn Planning Board Member, New Jersey Massage, Bodywork and Somatic Therapy Examining Committee Member. Ron Mondello is considered a subject matter expert in the complex and dynamic field referred to by legal scholars as “Crimmigration”.
